Fun Facts


  • The “Gospel of Wealth” changed the way many rich people thought about their finances. It basically said that people should feel fortunate about their successes but remember to share their wealth with the community as well.
  • Carnegie never lost his Scottish accent even though he spent most of his life living in the United States.
  • Carnegie died of bronchial pneumonia which is a disease that affects the lungs and creates dark patches on the bronchial walls that make it hard to breathe.
  • The word “munificent” means “very generous” or “lavish” which totally describes Andrew Carnegie. His name on so many important buildings clearly shows that he was a generous man who gave back to many communities.
